‘No More Mr Nice Guy’: Trump issues fresh warning to Iran over delay in peace deal

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued a fresh warning to Iran over the delay in signing the peace deal, saying the Islamic Republic should “better get smart soon”.

Posting an edited picture of himself in a black suit and carrying a gun against a backdrop that resembled bombardment in a mountainous area, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Iran can’t get their act together. They don’t know how to sign a non-nuclear deal. They better get smart soon!”

The image he shared also carried a caption, “No More Mr. NICE Guy!”, apparently suggesting that Tehran was no more dealing with a more accommodating US President.

The US President’s warning came hours after he claimed that Iran is in a “State of Collapse” and wants Washington to lift its military blockade in the Strait of Hormuz as they figure out their “leadership situation”.

“Iran has just informed us that they are in a “State of Collapse.” They want us to “Open the Hormuz Strait,” as soon as possible, as they try to figure out their leadership situation (which I believe they will be able to do!),” Trump had said on Tuesday.

Iran has reportedly sent a fresh proposal to the US through Pakistan, proposing reopening the Strait of Hormuz as the basis for ending the war.

The proposal also called for postponing the contentious nuclear issue for future negotiations.

Trump is believed to have expressed his reservations over the Iranian proposal during a meeting with national security aides at the White House.

According to reports, a US official said that the President is “not likely to accept the plan”, citing concerns that easing pressure without addressing uranium enrichment would weaken US leverage.
